Hydro Holders can be used on fishing boats, yachts and sailing dinghies. Local fisherman Steve is using his Hydro Holders to keep his water bottle and VHF Radio in place on his fishing boat. He is even using one as a fishing rod holder.
The Hydro Holders work perfectly on high gloss surfaces like the outside of the cabin area. Steve has added one Hydro Holder by the Helm for his VHF radio, and one on the other side for a drinks bottle.
As the Hydro Holder has been designed for use in waves they work very well on boats, yachts and other nautical vessels.
The key thing to remember is its all about the application process. The area you are sticking the Hydro Holder to needs to be non-porous (ideally a high gloss surface is best). Clean the area with the alcohol wipe (not just a rub over with a t-shirt!). Let the alcohol dry from the wipe and then remove the strap and backing tape of the sticky pad and press the Hydro Holder firmly down for 30 seconds. This is important as it allows the full surface area of the sticky pad to adhere to the surface. Don’t use the Hydro Holder for at least 30 minutes, and ideally 24 hours if you can. This time allows the adhesive in the sticky pad to bond with the surface.
Do this all on a warm day if you can. If its a cold day just make sure you leave the Hydro Holder for 24 hours before using as the bonding time will take longer in cold conditions.
The strap can be wrapped around the corners of the Hydro Holder if you need it shorter/tighter for your drink or bottle. There are also many variations you can do with the straps so please see the instruction card or our FAQ Page HERE.
